What is the Ti-Ni finish like when you first got the knife?
I just got the Agency and the black finish on it is smooth, deep black and gorgeous -- like the finish on a Colt Python. I got a Tech Bowie, too, but the finish wasn't nearly as nice as that on the Agency. So how nice is the finish on the Super Bowie? And how long does it last under duress? I plan to use mine as a safe queen, but if I ever need it I'd like it to be a decent knife.
Do you have any photos of the knife when it was new and unused?

Wow, with this thread being nearly 4 years old I didn't even realize it had been resurrected. Thanks guys, glad you liked it. The upper guard on the SOG bowies doesn't bother me after years of carrying an S1. I'v never not used a SOG. The coating was very nice on the Super Bowie when I got it, the first pics are of it new, it was just the lighting and the crappy camera I was using back then that make it look otherwise.

This thread is old but it motivated me to grab my Super Bowie off the shelf and go out back and chop off some oak branches that have needed to be trimmed up in my backyard. After cutting up the branches I chopped up a 2X4's with ease. The latest issue of Blade covers the 10th Annual Blade Show World Championship Cutting Competition (won by Ted Ott) and seeing the pics from that competition made me want to try some of my larger fixed blades on some 2X4's, tennis balls, water bottles and other materials.
I mainly bought my SOG Super Bowie because I love that style of knife and after reading a few reviews here it appeared to be a good user and not just a knife to look at...it has exceeded my expectations. If you have larger hands you find the thicker handle very comfortable.
