Sog vs. Kershaw

I'm not sure that it was weak, but that the bang-for-buck value wasn't as good, as well as the customer service.

Someone was selling the SOG FUSION SALUTE KNIFE for 20 bucks...even though its not a great knife i was think..got to be worth 20 bucks..but i had to take the groove over the sog

SOG gets almost no respect on this forum. My Visionary II and Flash II
have exceptional f&f and yet I hear more good things about Cold Steel
for Gods sake. SOG deserves better.

Sog and cold steel really seem to get no respect...you would think for the money they charge ,they would have a better rep...

Sog used to be well respected. They have great products with their Seal line, their old school bowies, and Recon and Scuba/Demo's etc. etc. Then they sent all their production to Taiwan THEN they took a major nose dive with this Fusion line. I REFUSE to buy anything with the name Fusion on it.

In general Kershaw has way more bang for your buck knives, blurring the line between high end and medium cost knives. The G-10 Tyrade is a perfect example. They are a company that has the tendency to push what can be done in production knives.
For that they have my support.

I guess I wasn't alone in thinking that he meant Buck knives, rather than dollar bills.
I'd go for the Kershaw, simply because I've heard the fit and finish on them tend to be better.

I like my Sog Flash II (after a little tightening) and my PowerAssist very much. Sog has some neat knives, not always the best value, but cool and decently well-made.

Their Fusion line seems to be mostly filled with cheap garbage. Go with the Kershaw this time.
