Hi Wildman,
In answer to your previous question,
1. Cutting test involving heavy rappel-style rope, and many other materials. Also chopping, moderate prying and pommel end hammering.
2. Ease of operation and overall comfort and layout of the tool.
3. Handle seperation under extreme lateral stress.
4. Salt water submersion and degradation (if any...)
5. Electrical Conductivity
6. Sheath Quality
7. Ease of draw and re sheathing the knife
I put knives through their proverbial paces so as not to have an avoidable catastrophic failure in real world usage. It is quite obvious that knives are used for anything and everything besides slashing, stabbing, and cutting other human beings in defense of ones life.
Be safe,
