SOGzilla

It was done for aesthetics and it also gives a little more surface area/friction when opening the blade.

Thanks Chris. Nice to get an answer to the actual question I asked.
Can't quite see the aesthetics, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Now if I can find out what prehistoric armor is I'll be happy. Still think your copy writer was just being "creative" ;).

Look, you sound like a nice guy and everything from what I read and you just work there but that hole is there so that the SOGzilla doesn't look worryingly like an Endura and you don't need to have issues cause your hole is slightly different.

Come on man, even the description sounds the same?

I was disgusted at Boker at copying the Lum folder and at the Chinese for their lack of ethics. Et Tu SOG? Wish they had a smilie of a disappointed smiie with a tear in one eye.

that when i happened to pull it out my pocket the first time viola....it waved open. i tried it about 20 more times and it worked every time. very smooth and very fast. this wasn't something i expected after reading so much about this beautiful knife. if you own one or happen to try one out at a store, give it a try and see if it does the "wave" open for you as well.

after reading chris's statement i understand that it was done for aesthetic purposes, but in reality it actually adds an additional method of opening for me...hopefully for others as well. maybe SOG may want to update the description to include that it does assist in opening from the pocket, if you can get it to replicate with the success i have had.

thanks for a great knife design, this is my primary EDC now.
