Are any of you folks interested in or do you engage in solar cooking? A box or two of Reynolds Wrap, a cardboard box, duct tape, Elmer's glue, and some transparent plastic or glass, can quickly be turned into an efficient, flameless cooker. Something this simple could be a real plus during a SHTF situation or even an extended power outage. Also while out in the boonies during high fire danger periods.

If anyone is interested, I also designed a very simple solar tracker which can rotate your cooker automatically to keep it facing the sun. I'll be glad to provide the rather crude but understandable plan to anyone who asks via email. I gave the design to an international 'save the forests' group based in India and they were really pleased with it. The rotator is 'KISS" to the max.

I guess I do need to get a Photo Bucket account so I can hotlink to some photos, etc. Any advice? Is PB on the up and up? Of will I sign up to multiple tons of span and popups?

I would definitely be interested in more information. I have thought about doing this. I like to bake, but in the summer I don't do much baking because my gas oven heats up the kitchen too much and burdens the AC. I have cloudless skies all summer, and it is already up to 110 outside, so a solar oven should work well here.

Folks, I apologize profusely and have just this minute corrected my Blade Forum email address. The address is the same except for the service provider which did read
@comcast.net. It should read @q.com.

Again, I am sincerely sorry. I changed providers a while back and forgot to update this site. Please resend your emails and I'll respond immediately. Old CW4

Email sent via the link on your profile. It doesn't show the address, so hope its the updated one. Thanks, Phil

Sent another email, CW4, but as Farmer Phil mentions above, it doesn't show the address when sending from the link.

Thanks for your generous offer:thumbup::thumbup:

Hope it works this time.
