Just now, I took an extensive amount of pictures and video at various angles and lighting in an effort to showcase the knife as accurately as possible: https://imgur.com/a/0UFZGXv?s=sms
EDIT: Ships with box, docs, wrench, grease, cloth, slip. Full insurance included in price.
EDIT pt. II: Dropped the price a smidge.
EDIT pt. III: Dropped the price an additional smidge.
EDIT pt. IV: Final price drop.
Good Afternoon,
A couple of weeks back, I listed and sold this Chris Reeve Knives Large Sebenza 21 with Desert Ironwood Inlays and Double Thumb Lugs. In doing so, I characterized it as LNIB, with the exception of the blade replacement (under warranty, see below) — never carried, never used, which it turns out, was only partially true.
I stand by the fact that I have never carried it nor used it to cut anything. Out for pictures, Ren Wax on the inlays, wiped down, that’s it. In light of this, I didn’t even consider the fact that there may be any marks/damage on it, so, I didn’t even check (though I should have)
I checked in with the buyer after tracking showed that it had arrived, which is when he told me that there were marks near the pivot. After a couple of messages back and forth, I gladly accepted the return and issued a refund once I received it.
He was indeed correct. There are several extraordinarily faint scratches near the pivot on each side, which can be seen in bright, direct sunlight at the proper angle. My theories as to how this happened:
1) It somehow picked up the scratches while getting the blade replacement. I doubt this is the case.
2) Being a professional sharpener who operates out of his home, there are probably abrasive particles here, there, and everywhere. On my fingers, on surfaces I touch, etc. This is the most likely culprit.
ANYHOW, as for the current listing:
As I said, I have never carried nor used it. I was fortunate enough to place an advance order with Dan at Plaza Cutlery last year, when I chose an S35VN blade and double thumb lugs. It arrived to me directly from Dan in May of this year. Its birthdate is April 25th, 2019.
When I received it, I noticed the blade was really poorly sharpened from the factory. I reached out to CRK, who received it and promptly issued a blade replacement under warranty. It must have picked up the scratches in the roughly 60 minutes I’ve had it out of the box since I’ve owned it.
In light of the information above, I figured a $150 reduction from my original asking price seemed fair.
Looking for $OLD OBRO shipped USPS Priority with tracking, FULL INSURANCE, and signature. Payment is accepted through PayPal Goods and Services only, for which I will pick up the fees. I would prefer to ship only to addresses associated with the buyer's PayPal account.
Thanks for looking and my apologies to the community -- hopefully my oversight is understandable. Feel free to message with questions.
