I present to you a Spyderco FrankenMilitary. It has an S90V blade with burnt orange Rex 45 scales.Yes, I put a Rex 45 blade on the carbon fiber/titanium Knifeworks exclusive Millie. Yes, it kicks ass. Anyhow, the knife for sale is what was orphaned in the process.
The Negative: The blade, as you can see, has been used mightily. It has resided in my back pocket almost daily for a firm year. It has been sharpened a lot. The tip has been broken off and repaired, which caused the wonky flatness in the belly. The bevels are wide as all outside because I took it to about 14° per side. I wanted it cutting like a champ and could have cared less what it looked like. The very apex of the tip is ever so slightly blunted. There are scratches here and there both on the blade and clip. It’s a heavy user. It will notcome with a box. It centers a hair toward the clip side.
The Positive: It cuts REALLY, REALLY well. The lockup is great, right at 50% with no vertical play whatsoever. Maybe the slightest smidge of side-to-side play if I’m being hyper-critical, though a 1/16th turn of a pivot screw would eliminate it. The scales are pretty much new with no obvious blemishes. I carried it for a few days before doing the swap. It hasn’t been sharpened in a while but I just gave it a quick strop on diamonds. She's good.
Asking $old shipped OBO via PayPal Goods and Services/USPS Priority with $50 insurance. Additional insurance, if desired, is to be paid by the buyer.
