This piece is a new one for me! First time using this stabilized natural tone/triple dyed Box Elder burl!

The Honetsuki truly shines when it comes to processing meat ingredients - ergo its name "Honetsuki" meaning "Bone-lover" in Japanese. A tall 40mm (1.5inch) heel aggressively tapering to a sharp tip.

Blade: AEB-L High carbon stainless steel, Cryo-frozen & Triple tempered to 61HRC
Blade Details: 40mm (1.5inch) tall x 170mm (6.5inch) Honetsuki
Handle: Modified Octagon Wa handle
Handle Detail: Triple Dyed & stabilized Box Elder Burl (natural tone, Blue, Violet & red), Brass fittings, Carbon fiber & Micarta spacers, Clear Epoxy resin hybrid butt
Balance: Right in front of the brass guard bolster
A closeup at the Hammer Texture Kurochi detail and the etched engraving on the brass bolster. These motifs are patterns I designed, inspired by Filipino cultural textile motifs. A little something unique from the culture that I grew up with

Hybrid butt with clear epoxy resin. Chamfered edges to make sure it's crisp but smooth

Polished spine with the corners knocked off. Distal taper starting at 3mm to 1.5mm before the tip!
Balanced right at the finger clearance in front of the brass guard bolster.
