Up for sale is a Wa D-handle Gyuto in AEB-L with old growth stabilized Redwood Burl handle.

7 day money back satisfaction guarantee for any reason, assuming knife is in original condition. Shipping not refundable.
Lifetime workmanship guarantee (as long as I am still making knives).

The Redwood burl handle features a modified D shape with a very nice figure to the wood and stainless spacer. The handle is hand sanded to 1200 and buffed.
balance is about 1/4 inch back on the handle. If desired, the handle could be shortened a bit, which should put the balance right at the blade.
AEB-L is hardened at 60 by Tru-Grit.
The blade is hand ground in my shop. This one is a convex grind on both sides, and a bit thicker than a laser, as the photos below show. Also shown in the photos, the profile of the blade which has plenty of rock at the tip, but a large sweet spot for cutting / chopping.
The blade features a full distal taper, hand finished to 1200 grit oil sanding.
Sharpened to 5000 grit using water stones. It will easily push cut paper.
The spine and choil have been rounded for comfort.

The Specs:
AEB-L at 60 hardness by TruGrit.
Full distal taper.
Full convex grind on each side of blade. This is a reasonably thin grind, .03 behind the edge at the choil, .02 two inches from tip.
Overall Length at 316 mm (13 inches)
Blade length at 175 mm (6.7 inches)
Handle Length at 141 mm (5.6 inches)
Blade height at 44.4 mm (1.75 inch) at heal
Taper thickness is 2 mm (.078 in) at heal, 1.1 mm 2 inches from tip.

The color really does show differently based on the light source. Here are a mix of full sun photos and shade photos.

(The smudge at the tip is just oil from the cutting board)

This is some of my redwood burl and I know thee struggle. Redwood burl is VERY hard to photograph, as capturing the flame effect is really a function of lighting.

and as you can see these have a LOT of flame and depth of pattern and Mark has done a stunning job with it.

Nice knife. Bought one of his kitchen knives last month and it is very nice and at a great price. You will not be disappointed.
