Hi all,
I was able to snag an awesome billet of feather pattern Damascus from the great Devin Thomas earlier this summer. It's AEB-L/302 mix stainless that I heat treated to RC62. I paused and considered keeping this in my collection as I'm not sure if I'll have another opportunity to get more of his Damascus. At any rate, I wanted to pair it with some of the most beautiful and rare woods and so I chose Honduran Rosewood Burl.
SPECS:
OAL: 13" (330mm)
BLADE: 7.0" (177mm) long, 1.375" (36mm) heel height. It has been hand finished to 1200grit and then etched in FeCl to reveal the feather pattern Damascus. The grind is hybrid full flat/convex which is down to 0.006" before sharpening.
STEEL: 0.10" (2.5mm) Feather pattern AEB-L/302 stainless Damascus steel made by Devin Thomas ( D DevinT ) heat treated to RC62.
HANDLE: Honduran Rosewood Burl with African Blackwood ferrule and black paper micarta and white G10 spacers and black micarta pin.
