I started this knife when I was still very new at this. It's not even my design, but a take on Gavko's "Excalibur", because at the time I didn't really know much about designing a large knife. It took years to finish it and I learned along the way. To make a long story short, this thing has gone through having it's blade ground, and reground and reground again, the handle was destruction tested and rebuilt, and finally today I decided it was worth putting my maker's mark on it and offering it up.
I want to make a disclaimer, though, that you're going to beat your hand up if you expect to chop hard into dead wood for any length of time, as a lot of shock transfers to the handle. I did a handle destruction test on it two years ago, and the right side scale started to delaminate, prompting me to remove the scales, re-prep the surfaces and a reassemble the handle. I tested it again with a few hard chops into dead wood, and it held up, but I want to caution against that type of use with it as a potential cause of failure. Really, a knife this narrow overall is not meant for hard chopping anyway. The sheath has also picked up a small amount of debris which leaves minor scratches on the blade.
Is it a good knife, though? YES!
If you are a martial artist looking for a medium/large blade to train with, this is very well suited to you. Also as a defense tool against predators it will be excellent. For trail clearing, yard work, vegetation, or butchering large animals this knife will do quite well, especially with the tough and wear resistant 80CrV2 steel.
Because of its speckled past, I am offering this one for a very low price, considering the high quality materials and size of blade you are getting.
