For sale today I have two A. G. Russell Reverse Congress folders, #AG-438CR. These knives are discontinued. They are made in Japan and the steel is AUS-8A. They are approx. 3 1/4" closed. I lucked into three of these and am keeping one and selling two. I was able to identify them with the help of the good folks at A.G. Russell, who located them in the 1998 catalog with a price of $44.95 (+ shipping, which I believe is $8.95 at A.G.R.) They said these were very big sellers at the time. I also found similar information in this thread, courtesy of JoeKansas1, which indicates they were still being sold in 2001: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...-Russell-Knife-Info-Please?highlight=AG-438CR
These knives are in very good condition and appear to be unused and with the factory edge. I have not sharpened them, but I did clean and polish them. The fit and finish is top notch, as you would expect from an A.G.R. made in Japan knife. I dont even see the usual blade rub marks usually found on production knives with opposing blades on a single spring. The pull is quite soft, so please do not buy these if you don't care for soft springs. I do not have boxes for them.
