I have made cleavers for butchers, heavy, built for chopping and disjointing hogs and beef but I thought an abbreviated version in the kitchen would be useful . This one could be used to split a chicken (spatchchucking), chop cabbage or prepare a pineapple, etc. I forged a curved belly for folks who like to rock the edge on the cutting board eased the spine for choking up over the top of the blade.

Forged from 1/4 inch 52100 high carbon steel
Heat treated to Rc 58-60 with attention to a fine grain structure.
convex grind finished with a cork belt. The clip is not sharp but there to aid piercing.
Stabilized and dyed curly maple scales with black Micarta spacers.
Distal tapered full tang
The handle is long with a hatchet style shape and is very comfortable in the hand.
Overall length: 11 3/4 inches.
Blade: 6 1/4 inches.
Weight: 12 ounces.

SOLD delivered within these United States. Please message me for shipping and payment options.
