Knife #1: Blacked out Gyuto
Blade: 8.75" (220mm) 52100 carbon steel with a coffee etched patina, hardened to 61 HRC.
Handle: African Blackwood with blue micarta spacer.
Overall length: 15.25" (390mm)
Height: 2.25" (55mm) tall at the heel
Weight: 6.3oz (178g)
Price: $290 USD plus shipping
This is a very light and nimble knife for it's size, with the balance right at the maker's mark. As always, it features a rounded spine and choil area for comfort. The blade is very thin, with a slightly convex grind. The blade is really more of a dark gray than a black, but it pairs really well with the handle I think.
I recently made a knife with a cocobolo handle in the same shape and my wife loved it so much that she insisted that I didn't sell it so she could use it! We've both been enjoying using it for the past few weeks, so I thought I'd make a few more with the same design.
Knife #2: AEB-L stainless bunka
Blade: 7.5" (195mm) AEB-L stainless steel at 61 HRC.
Handle: African Blackwood with blue dyed maple bolster.
Overall length: 14" (360mm)
Height: 2" (50mm) tall at the heel
Weight: 6.3oz (178g)
Price: $275 USD plus shipping

This is my first bunka, and I really like it! I
