I want to start by mentioning that my heat treater was reluctant to process these blades for the hardness I requested, and stated in his opinion the blades would be at risk of failure. However, once I finished this one, I sharpened it to 15° per side, with a 20° micro, and I performed the brass rod test on it, sliced up two corrugated cardboard boxes into thin strips, carved into plywood, including the aggragate layer, and performed twisting and prying cuts. I then took it back to the sheet of paper and it sliced it very well, and also shaved my arm hair. I put this disclaimer in here because two people in the industry whose opinions and experience I respect, have cautioned against using this hardness for AEB-L. However, their concerns of a weak edge have not seemed to apply, at least to this piece. I have another 11 blanks from this batch, all of which I will test after finishing before offering them for sale.

With no further ado, I offer you this, my AEB-L utility knife, just finished today.

Wow thanks Phil! You are too kind!

That's a really cool knife David! I've enjoyed seeing the new stuff you've been offering lately.

Thanks so much bikerector bikerector

Gravelface Gravelface , why yes, as a matter of fact I have one exactly like this to make. Well, almost exactly, the blade is a little taller on the next one. It's still just a blank, with no bevels ground in, and no handle, so there are many options that could be put in place. Hit me up with an email if you'd like to commission me for to customize it for you so you don't have to compete with anyone else.

Someone has contacted me in private and laid claim to the second utility knife! Sorry Gravelface Gravelface !
