Hi. Thanks for comments. The steel is NZ3 carbon tool steel which is similar to S1 (AISI) but with more carbon. So very high impact resistance. Keeps the edge very good as well. Something like L6.
Both still available.
 
There are not many choppers that I'd call elegant, but your's certainly are. That is fantastic work.
 
Love the first knife. Fantastic handle and blade shape.

Isn't African Blackwood great to work? My favorite exotic. Sometimes the grain is so tight you can't even see it.
