Here is the first custom knife I designed, made by Alan Davis in 2010. I sent him the design, specifications, and my preferences for materials; he did the rest (after making a few suggestions) and wonderfully so. Alan has branched out into folders and other fixed blades but I still think this is some of his finest work. The specs are as follows.

4.5" blade
4.25" handle
...8.75" OAL
Alan's signature rope filework on the spine, provides thumb traction.
A perfect swedge and a lightly upswept blade profile.
1/8" CPM-154 with a utilitarian stonewash finish (the blade stock is thin, but there is no perceivable flex-just what I asked for.)
Contoured stabilized maple burl scales. Really nice figure.
White vulcanized liners
Tooled leather sheath with a riveted belt loop. The sheath and the scales are both much more dark brown and less reddish than the last photos show.
Lanyard and signature antler bead

This knife has a keen point, a mirror edge, and feels great in hand. I have never used it because it is too pretty. It has been coated with Renaissance Wax and is waiting for a new appreciative home. I'm moving it out only to make space for new projects but wouldn't have many qualms hanging on to it.

Looking for $225 SOLD! to your door.

And Fes, thanks for your kind words. I know you and I have similar taste in quality fixed blades, for sure.
