Hello Everyone, I have one of my apocalyptic machetes available today. Made from 8670 high carbon steel, this super tough steel is perfect for this versatile tool. The Machete has a 14.5” blade, 3/32” thick at the spine and a 6” handle made from Bourbon Barrel staves, the staves are white oak that have a unique patina from their past life. The design for this piece is inspired by the machete from The Book of Eli. It feels good in hand and is ready to go to work. Price for this piece is $250, payment can be sent to edgeknifeworks@gmail.com on PayPal G&S. Price includes shipping and a lifetime warranty.

Hey Joshua, have you tested these things out? I love the look of this but I would be curious to know whether or not adding the holes has any impact on structural integrity.

Your knife designs are great, keep up the great work!

I have done quite a bit of testing with this design, all of the holes have been chamfered to remove any sharp edge and I’ve not found them to impact the strength of the blade. I recently had a tree next to my shop cut down and used this same design to delimb almost all of the small branches and break the brush down to the point I can start burning it. Still very sharp after all of the chopping on the branches and no issues with the blade. I believe the largest limbs I chopped through were about 2.5-3” in diameter.A62821BC-37F3-4FD8-A724-D7F3285ED507.jpeg

A bit of trivia related to the movie, especially fitting for an epic tribute machete with handles of white oak, The Book of Eli was filmed mostly around Carrizozo, NM, not far from the old mining town of White Oaks. You couldn’t have chosen a cooler handle material.:cool:
