Wrestled for a while about whether or not to post this knife for sale. Because of the blem I wanted to relegate it to the “blade drawer”, but my wife thought it would be a good opportunity to get a knife out there at a reduced cost and into the hands of a user who would appreciate it and is not super concerned with the aesthetics.
The knife, inspired by the lines of the winkler belt knife, has some glue lines around the handle (note- don’t do glue-up at midnight in a dark garage). The knife is secured via stainless steel Corby bolts and has a skeletonized tang, so the scales are rock solid, and there is NO open gapping. The knife was put together using orange dyed GFlex epoxy, so they’re not clear glue lines. No structural issues at all. The pictures depict the area.
Because I am a newer maker and I have a lot of pride in my work, my compromise to myself to release this into the wild was to “F” Mark it as a flaw on the underside of the tang (shown below).
Now that that’s out of the way, onto the knife!
