Yep it's original, the black coating was very thick, so I decided to strip it.
Once it was off and clean I was shocked how nicely it was finished before coating.

Is that the original satin finish that was under coating? It's very nice.

Good job on the stripping and sheath! What product did you use to take off the thick powder coat? I have a very long INFI blade I'm considering stripping back to within an inch or so of the ricasso (so that the "Busse Custom Shop" logo on the black coating remains). Did you run into decarbonization on the spine? Was it hard to remove? Thank you for your time!

Mark

P.S. I can attest that your buyer is a stand-up guy: very knowledgable, honest, and great communications.

I used kleen strip and let it sit for an hour, then did a second coat of stripper to remove the last little bits of coating.
The decarb was already smooth and light so I just oiled it and left it as is.
