I don't know if it's taboo to ask questions at this point, but I was wondering if anyone had photos of the Swatmandu and the RMD side by side? I see the blade shape difference, fuller, guard, and steel. But otherwise they seem extremely similar. It looks like this is a tactical version of the RMD. I love my RMD and am wondering if picking up a Swatmandu for going to "bad places" would be a good move.

Tried to take it to PM, but something err’d.
Anyway, I’d say no need. The SWATmandu is INFI, and has some styling differences. And I’ve found it to be slight thinner just behind the edge. But I can’t discern a difference in balance with the fuller. I think it’s totally for looks. Good looks, but looks.

I have RMDs, SMDs, INFImandus, and INFIdus. There are very slight differences in styling of all. But the blade size, shape, grip, etc.... all the same. Just different steel, some subtle grinding differences, styling differences. But if you have the RMD, I’d again say the SMD is not needed. Wanted? Well, that’s a whole different topic.

That’s what it looked like... frankly I was hoping someone could give me a justification so it’d be easier to pitch to the wife lol. I guess I’ll just have to come up with something while I keep an eye out for another one to become available. Thanks for the info!

Oh! Well, in that case: totally different grind, blood groove for easier extraction in the case of a self-defense incident. You really need to get one. But they’re rare, so if one becomes available, you should spare no expense to acquire it!
