Asking $SOLD for this very sweet Case / Southern Grind CG01 flipper with ruby red aluminum handle. The action is incredibly smooth and deeply satisfying with a just about fall-shut closing. Centering is perfect. I got this as NIB about three weeks ago in a trade here on BF.
I re-profiled the blade with KME system to about 18 degrees, and now it is seriously sharp! Still being somewhat of a KME rookie, though, I rubbed off a spec of the red ano on each side of the handle end (see photos) with the KME moving block while sharpening. Note to self...use painter's tape to avoid this in the future.
There is also a bit of discoloration (see photos) on the show side of the blade that I just noticed for the first time when taking photos, and I couldn't get out with just microfiber cloth and water. It's only noticeable when light hits at a certain angle.
This is a fantastic knife that seems to be flying under a lot of people's radar. The only online reviewer who seems to have taken notice is JT's Knife Life, who named it his 2018 knife of the year. The Case / Southern Grind CG01 is selling new for $199, so given the few cosmetic minor flaws I've documented, I think my resale price is a great value on a seriously nice knife.
