Hey there everybody! For a while I've been wanting to make a replica of the iconic Western 49 Bowie. Finally got around to it with significant modifications, especially the extra long and extra bent brass guard, I dialed it back a lot. The original also had a dropped choil feature that I removed on this one.
The handle contours on this one are very different than the high angles on the original too, much more rounded with a modest finger choil. This is significantly smaller and handier IMO than the original Bohemeth. Hope you like it!
Steel is 5/32” x 1 7/16” in NitroV with professional BOS HT at 60/61. Hand sanded to 600 grit for a fine satin finish. The edge was about .012” before sharpening. Balance is on the plunge.
Dimensions: 11 1/2” OAL, tip to guard is 6 1/2”
The handle is Chechem with a Brass guard finished to 600 grit, then oiled and waxed. The handle feels great in my average sized hand with room to spare.

Only $175 to your US door, and of course your satisfaction is my only priority. Paypal, check or MO, and the price includes fees and free shipping in the US.
Thanks so much for looking and please feel free to ask anything here or via PM.
Fun Back Story: In the early 80's or so my brother and I each got one and used them for years. Fast forward to the early 2000's and I'm going camping with 2 nephews and dabbling in knifemaking, so when they were 10 or 12 years old I offered them each one of my knives. Well, one chose a decent knife I made and one chose the beat up old W49! He eventually got one of mine too but jeez!
