Good evening guys,
I've got a nice one up for grabs today. I made this one with the idea that it would be an heirloom knife. The design is simple and classic but the materials are anything but. The steel is Magnacut at RC62, which is the sweet spot for this steel IMO. The handle material is absolutely gorgeous stabilized Amboyna Burl with a carbon fiber guard. I've lost knives while field dressing deer in the dark, the middle layer of the carbon fiber glows orangish red in the dark which should make it harder to do that with this one.
SPECS:
OAL: 9.0"
BLADE: 4.0" long, 1.25" wide. It has been machine finished to 400 grit. The grind is hybrid flat/convex which is down to 0.009" before sharpening.
STEEL: 0.10" CPM Magnacut stainless steel heat treated to RC62.
HANDLE: K&G stabilized Amboyna burl with carbon fiber guard, black and white G10 spacers and a black G10 pin.
SHEATH: Pouch style leather
