This is a project I have wanted to do for a while. It's inspiration comes from Phill Hartsfield.
This tanto has
Blade length of 8" and OAL 13"
Steel is S35VN 3/16" thick with a Rc of 60 with cryo treatment.
The guard is stainless steel with a hammered face and back.
The handle is black stingray with a silver menuki dragon and the ito cord is coffee color and topped off with a hard twist cotton cord Turkshead knot.
The handle is impregnated with system 3 clear coat epoxy and is water proof and will never chip, crack or break.
The Saya is bamboo with an nice friction fit. I tried something different and styled it after a Bowie sheath. The frog is powdercoated aluminum and sits on nickel silver.
