Up for sale today is an oldie but goodie. This is the Cold Steel Mini Recon 1. I recently acquired a spear point version and will keep that.
This Mini Recon is model 27TMC. It features a 3” clip-point blade made of AUS-8A stainless steel. The blade is 3.5mm thick at its widest, but is actually a very nice slicer. I have removed the coating from the blade to reveal the beautiful stonewashed finish.
The handles are black G10. They are contoured, and textured to provide an excellent grip. Contains a hole for a lanyard.
The thumbstud is reversible. It comes with clips for both right and left-hand carry. The clips are well done and the knife sits secure in the pocket. The venerable Tri-Ad lock provides a secure lockup.
The knife is 4 1/8” closed with an overall length of 7 1/8” open. It weighs in at 3.6 oz.
