Here is a 15.5" camp knife made from 4 bars of twisted grain elevator wrought iron forged welded together and butt welded to W2. The W2 was clay quenched for hamon. Spine 3/16" with distal taper. Antiqued copper ferrule with basic file work. Morticed/hidden tang curly claro walnut handle with peened rivets and lanyard tube for bomb proof construction. Sculpted handle feels awesome at 5.5". This will come with sheath.. either from Lance Parrish at Southpaw Leatherworks (www.southpawleatherworks.com) or one of my center seam sheaths for $20 less.

$450 shipped including sheath.

Normally I hate using the word "awesome" as it is so cliché. But that piece taken as a whole with the write-up only deserves one word, “awesome”. Wow!

Thanks folks.. next time I weld one up, which will be soon on a Norse sax, I will take some pictures. But it's actually the easiest welding I've done. Much less prep than doing san mai if you have materials already in the right dimensions. But I had to reduce large bars of wrought iron down to 5/8" square stock to weld the pieces together and to match up to my W2 bar. And it's never a ride in the park twisting wrought iron. My stuff wants to shear no matter how hot you work it....
