Not sure what the steel is. This is the only info I've been able to find about this particular brand: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/751937-Contento-Brand-Info-Please
Really well made, almost centered blade, smooth action, and a very positive snap. No blade wobble at all. A bit of pitting on the blade, but nothing too bad. Really cool colors and depth to the acrylic scales that the lighting in the pictures doesn't do justice, no cracking, but they are pulling back from the liners at the butt as seen in pics. Has been cleaned and oiled. Knife came to me horribly dull, I cleaned the edge up but it really needs to be thinned out. I've been meaning to do it myself, but figured someone else might be able to appreciate this number more than me and give it their own treatment. No box. I forgot to take a pic of the blade engraving but it reads CONTENTO SOLINGEN GERMANY. Asking $20 SOLD
