Damascus blades came from well known Russian bladesmith, Andrey Biryukov
Blades are made from four types of Russian steel: steel for bearings ШХ15, tool steel У7 and stamp steels 4Х2Н4МФ, 4ХВМФС
According to a recent post by Dmaster, "Approximate analogs would be, accordingly, 154CM / ATS34, D2, W108, 52100"
Both blades are 7" x 7/8" x 5/32"
HRC 59-60 (cutting edge) , HRC 52-54 (spine)

Mammoth ivory
Reticulated silver (82% silver and 18% copper)
Overall length: 11 1/4"
The sheath is made of 7-8 ounce leather with stingray inlay.

Handle:
Gabon ebony
Reticulated silver (82% silver and 18% copper)
Braided leather lanyard
Overall length: 11 3/4"
The sheath is made of 7-8 ounce leather with alligator inlay.

Are these "period pieces?" I just had a hunch they looked like something from the late 1700's or early 1800's.

I didn't have in mind any particular historical period when I was making these knives. Nobody is perfect :)
