Don Hanson III MS Bone Collector Damascus Linerlock in Blue Mammoth

Specifications:
OAL: 6 5/8”
Blade length: 2 15/16
Steel Composition: can’t remember

Saddens me to no end, but I’ve got to let this one go. It’s a DHIII damascus linerlock in some really intricately detailed blue mammoth. It packs a lot of blade into a slim, pocket friendly profile. This knife is great for edc, and resists scratching and other predicaments like a champ.

The blade features a long clip, some really cool w pattern damascus, and a screaming sharp edge, as you’d expect from a master smith. Blade is a little off dead center when closed.

The bolsters are fluted and threaded, and made up of his famous “scary” stuff mosaic Damascus.

Liners are anodized titanium in blue and purple.

The scales are really fantastic. So many details to become lost in, with blues, purples, rust, cream and white. There are layers of texture and color. Premium scales for sure.

Damascus backstrap, 18k gold thumb stud, fileworked bronze screws. The knife is stacked.

The has a really satisfying detent and pops into place with a “clack” that belies its small stature. The thing locks up like a vault, as you’d expect.

This beauty has been carried a lot and used a little since 2013 when I bought it directly from Don. The man’s such a pleasure, in and of himself. But that’s another story. It’s fresh back from the spa a couple years ago and has seen no use since. The blade, bolsters, and scales show no sign of use I can see. The only thing I can see is some light scratching on the liners.
