Is this powdered CPM-D2 steel?

Hello. No, it is "standard" steel produced in the conventional way. Actually, to be precise, it is steel from the Swiss company Schmolz + Bickenbach. It is an alternative to D2 steel.

This steel has the designation: X153CrMoV12
W.Nr. : 1.2379
AISI: D2
and the trade name is - Cryodur 2379

It is a great steel that I have been making from for 10 years. Thanks to subfreezing and secondary tempering, it has excellent properties. I think edge durability is very close to powder steels.
You must be wondering why I make such beautiful knives from such ordinary steel. Because that steel works perfectly.
