This is a new self-defense Pocket Spike. It is based on the design and function of the yawara, an ancient Japanese fighting/self-defense tool. It is handmade from 19th century tool steel. Rare four sided design. Shows age and previous use with an original patina. Hand shaped tip and concave thumb rest. The solid steel tool measures 5 1/4" and weighs 2.9 ounces. It measures 5 5/8" in the sheath and weighs 3.9 ounces with the sheath. The original makers mark reads, "B. RICHARDSON & SON". Comes with a custom wet-formed leather slip sheath. Great defense tool in an emergency situation. Perfect for carrying in a pocket, purse or handbag. Handmade from reclaimed material so no two are exactly alike. SOLD shipped anywhere within the US and its protectorates. No international shipping. Contact me at billgoodwin1958@gmail.com

Benjamin Richardson began business in 1839.
This was originally an early example of a butchers honing rod that the company produced.
