Today we have up for sale (selling only) an Edge Pro Apex 4. I have used it a grand total of 3 times before realizing a sharpener with a clamp would be much better for me. It was also only used on a Tenacious, so not exactly the hardest steel out there. It will also come with the Small Knife Attachment for sharpening your small blades and traditionals ($25 brand new). The system will ship with the Edge Pro itself (table and guide rods), mounted EP stones (120, 220, 400, 600, 1000 grits), two blanks for taping the polishing tapes, 14 each of the 2000 and 3000 polish tapes, ceramic hone, water bottle, microfiber cloth, small knife attachment, instructional DVD, product manual, and carrying/storage case. The stones have 99% of their grit left I would estimate. HOWEVER, I had a little accident and dropped the 1000 grit stone and a small corner chipped off (see photos). I didn't notice the sharpening being affected by this issue, but I barely used it and I also sucked at it so YMMV. Brand new stones are relatively cheap if you mount them yourself and still under $20 I believe for mounted. Also, the cloth was used when I tried to use it so it isn't perfectly clean.

I will ship it anywhere in the US, tracked and insured, and if you cover shipping I would be happy to ship international. Please keep in mind that it is now the Holiday Season so shipping times may be a bit longer than normal.

Let's call it $215 PP to me. I understand that there is a slightly damaged stone, but it will be coming with the Small Knife Attachment, which is essentially necessary for folders around 3.25 inches or less.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Josh

Loosen the nut for the plate that acts as a blade stop.
Remove white edging from plate and double-side tape some carpet grip pad (thin stuff - keeps small rugs/runners from sliding around) on the bottom of the plate.
Slide blade under the plate into sharpening position, then snug down the nut.
Sharpen away.

I tried a MacGyver version of that without the grip tape and with some rubber stuff I had and all it served to do was get in the way of the stone when I attempted to use lower angles. Maybe I screwed it up.

Nah, you just need to get the blade far back, and clamp down on the spine, not way forward at the edge.
I use mine on a variety of knives and have sharpened down to 16 degrees inclusive (just to see if I can).
I tend to be a little more aggressive with the stones, so I drilled a new hole for the stud/thumb nut that tightens it down.
If you sharpen the way the inventor suggests, having the stud and nut toward the back of the plate provides enough clamping force to keep the blade from moving.
