How old are those knives?
Not really sure. I can logically deduct after 1992 (Gulf War). From what I have seen, EK knives suffered some serious quality control issues in their later production knives. If I had to guess I would date them somewhere in the mid to late 90's due to the box, packing material, and quality. I scoured the internet trying to get a couple with good blade symmetry and even grind lines. These two were some of the best I have seen. I won't boast to be a EK knife subject matter expert, but I am sure someone here probably can zero in on more specific production dates by the manufacturing nuances of these knives. If you need more photos or a specific closeup to help ascertain this let me know, I would be happy to oblige.

Richmond Virginia? or Effingham Ill.?
Sorry, I am not sure. The box says "Gulf War" so that means post 91-92. But there is one box and two knives? Apparently the company was moved to Il. around 93. So that means if they were made in VA it would have been between post Gulf War 91 and pre-move 93. I think it is safer to consider they were made in Il. Again, I will not boast being an EK subject matter expert. I used to collect daggers and thought they would be a fitting addition considering I actually carried one in the Army (purchased through Brigade Quartermasters) years ago. If there are any subject matter experts out there, they may be able to use manufacturing nuances to better guide you and your inquiry. For example, if you look closely at the two leather sheaths, you'll notice different clips, one has a rivet, and even the sheath shape of the sheath is slightly different. This would lead me to speculate these were not from the same lot batch or production era????? hmmm?
