This is one of my "Smallwood Kwaikens". I'm calling them that because there's a small piece of wood inset in each handle. It's not an especially creative name, I suppose... but I think it works.

This particular knife has a stabilized Karelian Birch insert under the green wrap... and is a sibling to the knife that I have strapped to my very own pack.

Price is SOLD shipped within the US. Please contact me concerning shipping outside the US. Buyer is responsible for determining the legality of this knife within their state or country of residence. I prefer payment via Paypal. If interested -- or if you just have some questions or comments -- feel free to shoot me a PM or email. My goal is 100% satisfaction; so if for any reason the buyer is not happy with this knife, please ship it back undamaged within 30-days and I'll send a full refund.

PLEASE NOTE: The knife comes with a kydex sheath {shown}.

Some Stats:
Length: 5-31/32" (so basically 6")
Blade: 2-13/16" (Tip to choil), 0.153" thick at the guard
Weight: ~50g
Steel: Differentially Heat-Treated 1095
Handle: 550-cord wrapped and treated with West Systems epoxy. Stabilized Karelian Birch insert as shown
Sheath: Carbon Fiber Kydex on front, Black in back

Erin, does this have a full flat grind both sides ? I don't know what features make a Kwaiken.
thanks, kj

Hey Joe.
Yes, the blade is FFG on both sides... though I do employ a soft cork backing when hand-sanding the final grits, which gives a very slight convex at the edge.

There are many folks here on BF that are more informed than I concerning Japanese terminology, but I consider a kwaiken to be a small tsuba-less single-edged knife in the Japanese style... typically concealed.

Thanks Erin. I find the green cord wrap with the birch showing through is most attractive on this knife with the darkened blade.
If i had funds i would give this knife a good home, but i don't, so another sharp knife shopper will be the lucky one.

Thanks for the kind words Joe. I was a bit skeptical about this color combination at first... but, to my surprise, it turned out to be one of my favorites.
Thanks again.
