I'm re posting this hunter tonight. The blade was made from a billet of Explosion pattern Damascus that I got from Randy Haas at HHH Knives. It's probably the coolest damascus I've worked with thus far. It's a combo of 1080/15N20 steel heat treated by Peter's to RC60. The handle is Curly Walnut stabilized by K&G and black canvas micarta bolsters. The large pins are micarta and the small are copper mosaic.
The sheath is handmade stacked leather.
Specs:
OAL: 8.5"
Blade: 3.5" long 1.5" wide, full flat grind with distal taper. Hand sanded to 1200 grit and etched in Ferric Chloride. The edge is 0.009" before sharpening.
Steel: 0.16" thick 1080/15N20 Explosion pattern Damascus from HHH Knives, heat treated by Peter's to RC60
Handle: Stabilized Curly Walnut with black canvas micarta bolsters. Black canvas micarta liner and white G10 pinstripes. Micarta and mosaic pins.
Sheath: Handmade stacked leather.
$325==>Now $305 Shipped CONUS, international buyers welcome shipping extra.
Post "I'll take it" here in this thread and then PM or email for payment arrangements.
Comments/Questions/Critiques welcome.
Thanks!

Very nice. Speaking with another member who is selling a burl flat grind piece with orange micarta you did. Very nice work all around. Will definitely end up with something of yours passing through our hands at some point!
Cheers.

Thank you Eric!
I think I might have mentioned this before but we used to live just up the road from you in Marion VA. Beautiful country down there!

Wow, yeah... ~20 minutes away! Most of my family is from Smyth County.
Wish I had seen this piece first. Of course, haven't officially bit the bullet on the other as of yet. Wife would kill me if I got both! We're trying to build back some 'inventory' for horse trading... not a collection... Lol.
Outstanding work.

This is a REALLY nice piece. Great lines and materials on this. Outstanding work.

I know what that walnut looks like too. Pics don't do it justice. It's like koa...you just can't get a good picture of it that really allows you to appreciate the full beauty of it. That is a premium piece of wood.

Very nice indeed.

Thanks John, I appreciate your kind words. The walnut is some of the nicest I've worked with:thumbup:

This can't still be here!!

This thing is smokin... Man I absolutely love it; and if I wasn't playing with other people's money and requests most of the time I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat! Right up my alley...

If it's still here on payday (next Friday) I'll give you your original asking price brother... Call me out on it if I forget...

Wish I'd have had the money free to get the burl on orange micarta piece I saw on the secondary forum the other day. If that one's still up Friday I may just take them both...
