The Fer-de-Lance, IMO, is one of the finest knives available in its price range. It would make a perfect EDC for heavy-duty use or the perfect addition for the discerning collector. The handle's ergonomic design makes it feel like it was custom fitted to your hand. The razor-sharp, blade style, is just about perfect for almost any cutting chore. Add to that, one of the most powerful springs out there. The quality, fit, and finish, of the Fer-de-Lance, is as good as it gets! Again, in my opinion, it is one of the most under-rated knives out there.
Woodard Knives was named after Buck Woodard. He was the shop foreman who worked for Jim Ray, owner of WhiteWolf Knives in NC.
When Mr. Ray went on to found MOD Knives (the mid-90s), Buck took the reins of WhiteWolf and renamed it Woodard Knives. He started a few of his own Production models (Pocket Pro/FerdeLance/Combat Auto/etc) and HandGround quite a few himself.
