I bought this on the 'bay last fall. There is no size tag in the coat. I've got lots of Filson gear and their size 46 usually fits me perfectly. I'm 5'10''/210#. This coat just fits, but there's not much room for layering underneath. I'm guessing it's a size 44, or possibly even a 42. It measures 24" side-to side under the armpits, under the outer cape. That would indicate a chest size of 48". I just measured my chest and it's 45". By the time you figure in the thickness of the wool, and the extra slack built into any given size, that doesn't leave much extra room. UPDATE: After looking on the 'bay and comparing tagged sizes with actual measurements, I think this coat is probably a size 40 or 42. Seems like there's a 6" to 8" difference between the tag size and what the coats actually measure. Makes sense now that I think about it.
If you've been wanting one of these before winter, and the size & color works for you, I don't think you'll be disappointed!
