Finesse Filet

This is a semi-flex filet knife designed as a collaboration with a customer who is an experienced fisherman and outdoorsman. After his prototype, this is the third one made, and the first available to the Knife Exchange on Bladeforums. He and the original owner both like theirs very much, but it may not be suited to your fileting technique, so please consider the following before you buy:

I called this the finesse fillet because I prefer to ride over the ribcage bones rather that cut thru them. Saves the step of removal and eliminates the chances of chipping the blade on larger bones.

Specs
Steel: 3/32" AEB-L, 63 RC

Geometry: Full flat-vex, near zero grind,

Overall Length: 11"
Cutting Edge Length: 6 1/8"

Weight: 3.4 oz

Handle: Python canvas Micarta

SOLD

Thanks for looking!

This is a great knife. I filleted 28 specks (crappie) with mine this week. Knife was virtually as sharp as when I started. The knife is a great size for filleting both smaller and larger fish. I use a longer blade with more flex for skinning but as a dedicated fillet knife it works very well. David knows how to create a fine edge.

David I'll take this.
I'm happy to wait until you've finished those customs I ordered from you. You could package this with them to save on postage.
Once you confirm I'll paypal you.

Glad you're getting lots of use out of it! 😁
