*** SOLD ***
This early Victorian Spear Point Dagger was made by (George) G. Wostenholm & Son, Washington Works, Sheffield, England.
From my research, I learned that the I*XL stamp was added after 1826, and that this particular type of dagger was most likely made between 1848-1858 and specifically for export to the Americas. The handle appears to be stag (but feels like bone), and the guard looks like silver. The original leather sheath has what I believe to be brass fittings. Blade length is 5-3/8" and overall length is 9-1/8". Full-tang construction with a hefty 4.5-5.0mm blade stock and has good weight for it's small size.
This would probably clean up nicely, but I didn't want to disturb the patina, so I left it as I received it.
I am asking $400 for the knife and sheath shipped.
Price includes USPS Priority Insured shipping w/in the CONUS; Payment by USPS MO or +3% for PayPal.
