Hola everybody! Quite a while back this style from below the equator caught my eye so here’s another Gaucho blade up for your consideration. This is my 6th and all the others had leather, Elk and wood/G10 spacers so I decided to do something different with this one. Hope you like it!

80CRV2 - Dimensions - 5/32”” x 11 11/16” OAL and 7” from tip to bolster and the height is 1 1/2”. There’s even filework on the spine for a little latin flare! Hand sanded to 1200 grit for a clean satin finish. Paul Bos Heat Treat to 60/61. Balance is between the ricasso and front of the bolster, the edge was near sharp before sharpening. The spine is well rounded for a comfortable thumb.

The handle features a beautiful piece of Ironwood with black G10 spacers. There’s a few hairline checks in the wood, filled with CA glue. It’s finished to 1200 grit, then oiled and waxed for a lustrous polish. The bolster is copper and G10 finished to 2000 grit and buffed. It’s pretty shiny!

The premium sheath features the real Gaucho man and is a snug fit with great retention yet easy to deploy. So even if you’re not gonna go Gaucho’ing anytime soon this would still make a terrific BBQ blade and be right at home anywhere knives are used.

Thought I'd add this one since both are Ironwood and would make a great pairing with a good discount bought together! It's a full tang Black River Hunter, named after my favorite place on earth in eastern Arizona.

Steel is 5/32” x 1 1/2” in 8670 with professional HT at 60/61. Hand sanded to 600 grit for a satin finish. The edge was less than .010” before sharpening, it balances behind the first pin and the swedge flares at the tip for extra strength.

Dimensions: 10” OAL, Tip to Scales 5 3/4”

A beautiful Ironwood handle is sculpted for a very comfortable fit. It’s sanded to 1200 grit with stainless pins and lanyard (I forgot to clean up the tube before photos). The handle feels great in my average sized hand with room to spare. A small check emerged during shaping on the left scale right at the finger choil as shown in the closeup picture. There are a couple of other very minor ones, as is common with Ironwood. Your choice of blaze orange or mottled paracord is included for the lanyard.

Yep. I 've thought about that black river knife since its appearance. This gaucho version is really slick, knifemaker John Cahoon. Wonderful knife.
