1) GEC #56 Bird Dog 2 Blade in Canvas Micarta: $90 --> $75 (SOLD)
As soon as I got this knife I sharpened both blades on my KME to a “near-mirror” polish and used the main blade to cut up an apple or 2 at home. After using it, I realized that the combo of the blade shape and ergos weren’t for me. I ended up using some Flitz to remove most of the patina, which was caused by the fruit, off of the main blade...I did not use the Flitz anywhere else on the knife! The action on the pen blade is a little tight but it should wear in just fine...it does not get hung up or anything. I never actually carried this knife so the covers, bolsters, back springs, etc. are in excellent shape. The photos should give you guys a pretty good idea of the condition. It comes with the tube and waxed paper.
2) Case 6.5 Bonestag Teardrop 2 Blade in CV Steel: $55 (SOLD)
This is a Tony Bose designed pattern and is LNIB...it has only been out for inspection and photos, NEVER carried or sharpened. Both blades have relatively light pulls but decent “snap” throughout the action. They’re centered and do not rub at all. The only flaw that I see is that the factory had a minor hiccup during sharpening and did not get a perfectly flat edge on the main blade. It’s not terrible at all, especially if you’re looking to use the knife...it can easily be sharpened out even by an inexperienced sharpener. Otherwise, it is a gorgeous piece with excellent fit and finish for the price point!
