Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!
Here's a sharp, super useful knife ready for your belt or pocket
Ground on a 14" radius platen, this guy sports a nice, shallow hollow grind that not only provides a lot of flexibility to tweak the edge to your liking, but keeps an efficient geometry for a lifetime of cutting. The blade has a fairly fine finish to further ensure the stainlessness which AEB-L is designed for.
AEB-L isn't known to be a highly wear resistant steel, compared to others, so the blade is cryogenically quenched for high hardness without giving up much in the way of toughness. Due to its lack of super hard carbides, maintaining the edge is easy peasy.
I work hard to ensure there are as few stress risers as possible in the knives I make, so all the stuff you can't see which is under the handle is smooth, chamfered transitions and pin holes. The hidden tang is tapered for balance and to remove all unnecessary weight.
The five part handle is laminated using a high toughness two part epoxy with great sheer strength, and is held together with four stainless pins- two of which are visible in the pictures. The scales are Richlite, laminated to G10 liners, laminated to a canvas micarta frame. The tang is held in place via matching canvas micarta pins, and the handle is further bolstered by a useful hollow brass tube.
I don't outsource any aspect of my work, apart from having my mark laser engraved. No waterjet, no jigs- all grinding is done freehand.
The hand stitched sheath is sturdy 8-10oz veg tan leather, which has been stained and hot packed for a lifetime of use.
Price; SOLD$425USD + $30 shipping to the USA.
Payment; Paypal G&S invoice

Cheers!
