SOLD (on another forum) are two Gerber knives: The MK II and the MK I.

The MK II has the correct logo with the angled sword and a 1971 S/N, proper number and type of serrations - Fine, 14 teeth/inch, etc. The RT5 sheath is also correct for the period. Front tip needs stoning to restore "pointy" tip but rounded tip (field expedient) is sharp. Some stains from sheath carry in a hot, humid environment. Steel is L6 Tool Steel. Armorhide handle is perfect with some staining close to the guards. Sheath is excellent.

Gerber changed the model name from "Combat Knife" to "Survival Knife" around this time (1971) to make it more acceptable for the PX system to carry it, as they had dropped the MK II because of the original name being too "aggressive".

The MK I is in excellent shape with a few sheath stains on the blade. The Armorhide handle is excellent and the blade has never been sharpened. Has the correct Gerber-marked sheath. Low S/N, but lack of info from Gerber precludes an accurate manufacture date. The low S/N would put it sometime close to the initial run. This knife has not been carried or used.

Asking $OLD for the pair, shipped, ConUS Only. Payment by Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal (F&F ONLY).

If you're in Orange County, CA, cash FTF in Huntington Beach is ok.
