Good morning everyone and thank you for all the kind words.

Sweet blade I like it, we need a 12" version now with a distal taper to cut down on the weight with it being a longer blade. Although this is a nice size also. 👍

"Aebl is stainless that performs like carbon steel".....

It already sold...but you are selling AEBL short there!! Think "even easier than carbon steel to sharpen....and twice as tough...also holds an edge netter than simple csrbon steels like 1095...

No down side!! Fantastic knife and the new owner will love it!!

Bigfattyt Bigfattyt I agree completely. My default carbon steel is now 8670, which I think is the toughest knife steel, even tougher than AEB-L and 5160, hence the admittedly subjective comparison. AEB-L and 8670 are my preferred large knife steels. MagnaCut is going to get a fair shake in a couple months here as well, since I am making an R&D 10" chopper with it, and will be testing it on wintered wood. Many CPM steels are thought of as tough enough for harder use blades, and I am eager to see just how thin I can grind a "medium toughness" steel and still work hard without damage. But if I find I can make it cut like my AEB-Ls and 8670s do without chipping or rolling, it will probably take top preference for me on account of its nigh imperviousness to corrosion. On paper, LC200N would be my favorite large knife steel, but it's twice as expensive as MagnaCut, and eight times as expensive as AEB-L.
