I snapped the tip off this swayback and sent it to Spyderco for their tip repair service they offer. This is what I got back…for some reason they decided to round the tip instead of grinding down the spine and, as a bonus, they added a totally unexpected and mysterious recurve to the base of the blade. They also sent me a letter essentially stating that they did their best, which, of course, I appreciate. Spyderco specifically offers a broken tip repair service that I requested and sent the stated payment for. If they didn’t I probably would have just sanded this down myself. Anyway. First pic is of the knife with the broken tip as sent in to Spyderco. Other pics are of the current state it is in as I received it back from them. I was gonna bury this knife in my garden and try to forget about the whole thing but I’m such a cheap bastard I’m offering it for sale instead. I removed the clip but will include it along with the pouch and little pamphlet.

Asking $115 including PayPal fees and shipping. Or best offer. Feel free to lowball in this thread, and please accompany any offer posted below with a comment about this…sharpening…job.

Enough material was removed to represent. Year's of use and sharpening. Are they going for the old butcher knife look?

My offer is $40. Sorry you got the service you did. I have several spidies. Never had one come back like this.

Ouch! I've had great luck so far with their services, but yeah, sorry to hear and see this outcome.

Never owned a swayback or a knife in CTS-xhp. I'll throw my hat in the ring for $50.
