The Eklipse incorporates the knowledge Rick has gleaned from years of sending XM-18 into the hands of hard users and combines it with the new, high tech, fabrication equipment that Hinderer Knives has been investing in. The knife feels great in the hand. It is perfectly balanced, and has a the precision lock up you expect from Hinderer. Similar in size to the world famous and tested XM-18 3.5", but with a totally different feel. The blade grind is a modified tanto that is almost hissatsu like. We at Monkey Edge kinda dig the vintage vibe. We were talking to the Hinderer crew about a project for the USN Gathering G6, and said: "how about like a working finish, but even older. Like a well worn pari of old Levi jeans?" So, the Hinderer gang took the normal working finish a bit more aggressive and added a cool bronze anodizing. The juxtaposition of a new knife made with high tech materials on high tech machines, with a vibe that it has come from the past is pretty damn cool if you ask us! To top it off, there is a small Maverick Monkey mark etch.
