Hinderer FXM 3.5" Wharncliffe
Sold SV: $215
Wharncliffe S35VN blade with orange scales and a custom kydex sheath from a Bladeforums maker. Sheath has good retention and the knife snaps in nicely. Although f I was keeping it I would probably heat it up and loosen the retention a bit. This was a user for a few weeks but doesn't really show any wear other than the sharpened edge and some light scuffs on the G10.
Now about the edge... Started out at 17 dps to full apex on my Wicked Edge. The edge turned out very thin due to the blade stock, and this was a designated beater so I was worried about chipping it. So, I started again with a primary bevel of 22 degrees and then hit it at every angle back down to 17 degrees. Finished with 1500 grit stone, then leather strops loaded with 4 micron diamond emulsion, and finally 2 micron diamond emulsion. I just touched it up before I took these photos so it's extremely sharp and ready to work.
The tip was chipped just a tiny bit so I ground the spine down to bring the tip back. See the last two photos in the imgur album - very hard to tell that it was done. Ships with packing peanuts, Hinderer sticker, and excessively large original Hinderer box.
Trade interests would be a Half Track Battle Black texture titanium scale, Battle Bronze half track standoffs, single hole hinderer filler tab in working finish (plain or engraved)
