My Hinterland heavy field/combat model in Crucible's venerable cpm3v tool steel, with a 7" blade, black/OD green G10 scales with black G10 spacers. Thickness is 1/4", full flat grind, rounded back, tapered tang with thumb ramp, jimping and "tipless" glass breaker pommel. This is a large, full-function field knife that chops very well but is also very versatile. The first few of this design went into military service and the feedback has been excellent, although most troops prefer to carry smaller knives these days for practical reasons, this knife is a good friend to have in a hostile environment.

This is the first of this design to be offered in cpm3v steel and features my new stonewashed finish, which is smoother and more rust resistant than the bead blasted finish I have been offering in the past. The blade is hand sanded to 400 grit, tumbled with creamic media, etched in ferric to darken, then neutralized and tumbled again for a finish that is textureless, non-reflective and absorbs minor scuffs and scratches more gracefully than most other finishes.

Specs:
12-3/8" overall, blade is 7-1/4" tip to scales, 1-9/16" wide, 1/4" thick
cpm3v tool steel by Crucible, heat treated by Peter's to 59-60 hrc
Tapered tang, full flat grind, thumb ramp, jimping and notched glass breaker

Laminated/assembled with West Systems G/Flex epoxy and flared stainless tubing

That is one hell of a beautiful knife! I love the structure of the ricasso/hand guard and the finger groove in the handle--absolutely perfect for its purpose. I also appreciate the jimping, blade shape, pommel, and gorgeous handle--you, sir, are an artist that knows knives. If only I had an extra 340 bucks! : )
