SOLD-After a long wait Ive gotten caught up, Here I have a forged 1095fg from ALDO bowie/fighter with curly maple on the handle, tapered from ricasso tho the tip, I believe the guard material is some type of brass but alot harder than normal brass. It was found under a church that was being taken down that was around a hundred years old, maybe it was a grounding rod? I have no clue but I do know its very pretty. The handle material is natural color, no stain, no dye, but it does have two small spots that where knots hidden inside the wood, they are there to stay and because of that the price will be much lower than usual. Price issold paypal shipped with a sheath, paypal address is c.edmondsonknives@yahoo.com it does come with a stud type sheath for any questions please call 256 252 9478
Total length-15-1/4 inches
blade width- alittle shy of 1-1/2 inches
from the top of the guard to the blade tip-10 inches
ricasso thickness-.360 or just a hair under 3/8ths

Beautiful fighter Charlie!! The brass really compliments the curly maple!! Terrific blade!!

Charlie,

This IS a gorgeous Fighter.
Could the guard be bronze ?
I really dig the curly maple, too bad about the knots but i bet they are stable.
You also get big points in my book for disclosure.

Thank you guys alot, Im not sure if its bronze or not. The rod it came off of was about 2 ft, octagon shaped, had a real dark almost red patina to it. Thank you guys again for your noce words, CHarlie

I think that a type of hard brass used to be used for corrosion prevention, was this connected to something in the church that could corrode?

Nice piece.
